With a wingspan of 25 meters, the Mü16 was designed as a high performance plane. The projected glide ratio of 50 was a little bit too optimistic, though, as well as the minimal sink rate of 0,4m/s at 52km/h. With the pilot lying on his stomach, the instrument panel was to be watched in a mirror in order to prevent an inconvenient head position. In case of an emergency, the front part of the fuselage could be jettisoned. According to the construction layout the speed brakes had to be realized on the outside of the rear fuselage because there was not enough space in the wings. The Mü16 was never built.
